Hello there! Thanks for visiting my blog!

I’m Will, and I’ll be your baking companion along this journey.  I’m an amateur baker with the dream of inspiring other people to dive into the world of yeast, flour, salt, sugar, and all the other myriad of ingredients that make up the world of baked goods.

I grew up in a small town in Virginia surrounded by family that loved to cook, bake, and most importantly…eat!  Some of my fondest memories growing up took place in my grandma’s kitchen, and I credit that to sparking my interest in baking.

My first dive into baking took place in my small apartment in the suburbs of DC.  Counterspace was limited, but I was able to perfect the chocolate chip cookie.  From there, I started making breads, scones, and cakes.  It was cramped, but it was fun!

In the summer of 2017, my husband and I made the move to Oregon for his career as a pilot.  While we were house-hunting, I had one major request – a kitchen with enough workspace to comfortably bake in.  I’m happy to say that I got my wish!

My plan for this blog is to cook my way through the King Arthur Flour Baker’s Companion, with a few recipes sprinkled in from other places.  You’ll see it all: successes, fails, tips and tricks while I bake my way to Gluten heaven.
